We have received information from a possible cousin that the mother and father of William Eldridge Awtrey are Greenberry b. 1803 in Georgia (not Green Berry, his cousin) and Sarah Upton, who he married in 1825 in Henry Co., GA. Here are the children she lists for them: Bazeal, Hiram, Isaac, Permelia Ann, Joseph, William (Eldridge?), Lucinda, Annis Araminta, and Sarah.
Some of the information on the internet shows that Greenberry was the one married to Caroline Malcolm, but on the 1850 Georgia census, it shows that it is Green Berry, Greenberry's 2nd cousin who she married in Dec 1835, and the oldest of their children listed is a 13-yr. old, about 3 yrs. younger than William Eldridge would have been at that time.
