WILLIAM ED AUTRY (b) 24 Feb 1876 (d) ? is my g-grandfather. I was told William died about 7 mo. after his son JAMES E. ATURY'S birth, (b) 17 Dec 1924, which makes it about July 1925.
I have a copy (I found at the Atlanta GA Archives)of his marriage license (dated 4 Sept. 1893) when he was married to JIMMIE F. CLARK (b) 26 April 1874 (d) between the 1910 census and 1912. WILLIAM ED AUTRY then married FANNIE MAE PASHIA GODWIN, showing in the 1920 census.
I based JIMMIE F. CLARK'S death time period by the facts of the oldest child born between WILLIAM and FANNIE MAE in the 1920 census which shows her as being 6 years old.
I also have one picture of him, a copy I made from the only picture availabe, from his son JAMES E. AUTRY. My AUTRY lineage I'm searching starts in the area of Cairo, Whigham and Bainbridge, GA (Grady/Decatur Counties).
I am the granddaughter of WILLIAM ED AUTRY'S daughter FLORENCE PEARL AUTRY HOLT (b) 25 Oct 1900 (d) 9 Feb 1995 who was married to JAMES ROBERT HOLT (b) 24 Nov 1896 (d) Nov 1945.
Because I am just starting my search, I do not know the names and births/deaths of any sibblings or the parents of WILLIAM ED AUTRY. If anyone has any information, please contact me. I would deeply appreciate your input for my "genealogy addiction" that I need help with.
