Hi,
I don't know that she was born in Mississippi. The 1860 census of Marion County, Ala. (page 698B & 699A, dwelling 567), gives her birthplace as Mississippi, which certainly could be wrong. However, hers was the only Mississippi birth listed in that family. So I am inclined to think that the family might have lived briefly in Mississippi, I have no idea where.
