Mr. Hardy, Yes you are correct on the date of the injury and place. I have yet to locate any pension as well but I do know by a 1910 census that he was living with his neice Nancy Bradshaw and that he was 75 yrs old. I have researched at the National Archives in Washington DC through the headstone applications to see who it was that applied for the stone on his grave in hopes of finding a death date but there is no information that I have found. Do you know of any other place to look ? I also know that John P. was a calvery seargent that trained personnel in Burnsville. The rifle that I refered to is on the second floor at the top of the steps turn right into a room and then right again, you will be standing infront of a glass case with a civil war rifle which was carried by either my grandfather or my uncle. If you have any information about my grandfather during the war please let me know and I will keep on searching this facinating part of my family.
