Greetings! Thanks for the note. My source for the burial location of Joseph P. Autrey is Lloyd Bailey’s second volume of the Toe River Valley Heritage, page 164. Is there more than one Joseph P. Autrey? Any idea what the “P” stands for? Would you happen to have a photograph of Joseph that I might use in the book?

My notes simply say that Hiram deserted in September 1864. I’ll go back and check the 1890 veterans census.
