Mrs. Ethel Pearl Cook, 88 of Nebo went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday October 31, 2006. Born December 7, 1917 in Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late Stan Autrey and the late Cordie Young Autrey.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cook was also preceded in death by her husband Ray Cook, a son Paul Cook and two infant daughters.

Surviving are six sons, Vern and wife Joan of Burnsville, Clarence and wife Lucy of Lenoir, Doug and wife Lucille, Dennis and wife Kathy, both of Nebo, Jerry and wife Shirley of Newland, and John of Roanoke, VA; three daughters, Hazel Mae Bodford and husband Henry of Burnsville, Glenda Irwin and husband Roy and Betty Ann Cook, both of Marion.; two brothers, Fred Autrey and Ranis Autrey and wife Lillian, both of Burnsville; twenty-eight grandchildren and thirty-six great grandchildren.

Funeral Services were held at 3:00pm on Friday November 3, 2006 at Fairview Baptist Church of Burnsville with Pastor Kenneth Hollifield and Pastor Todd Harold of Laurel Hill Baptist Church, Nebo where Mrs. Cook was a member,
officiated. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Cook lie-in-state at the church one hour prior to the service. The family received friends from 6:00 ? 8:30pm on Thursday November 2, 2006 at the McCall Memorial Chapel of
Kirksey Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Gideons. Kirksey Funeral Home of Marion had the honor of serving the Cook family. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.mem.com.
