All I can say is that Benton County was established in 1832 so George could not have married Mary there in 1825. I have also checked Autrey marriages in Benton County because George was there by 1840 and several of his siblings lived there for a time. I found no marriage for a George Autrey in Benton County 1832-1850.

It would be fairly easy to check the story that Cynthia's daughter made a claim for Indian assets. Several commissions were established to investigate such claims around 1900 - many of them were fraudulent - and their investigations generated tons of paperwork which is stored in the National Archives Fort Worth, Texas, Branch. Much of it also has been microfilmed, but you really have to know what you are doing to find these things on microfilm.

Even the rejected claims make interesting reading and reveal a lot of family information.
