The Isham Autrey listed in Lavaca County was my great-grandfather, born 3-11-1817 in Moore Co NC to Frederick Autery and Elizabeth Sheffield. He did have a son, George Washington Autrey, born 2-23-1849 in Mississippi, died 12-24-1904 in Lavaca Co, who married Mary Ann Norell. I know of only one son, Walter Lay, born 1877, probably in Lavaca Co. My cousin was one of the major contributors to the Autrey Autry Autery Bulletin that was published for several months in the 1980's. I have most of her reference works now, trying to get them entered into my database, but I don't have all the descendents entered yet. I have fairly complete information on Isham, his siblings, his ancestors and their siblings, so I looked through my index and found several George Washington Autreys, but none with dates close to yours. My conclusion--while they were probably related, it probably wasn't very close. If I find him later, as I wade through all these books, I'll let you know. If you know any other relatives of your George Washington, let me know and I'll look them up too. Hope this helps.
