Yes, I know what happened to William NELSON Autrey, b. 14 Jan, 1857 in Brillant, Marion Co., AL. He is the great grandfather of my husband. I have been hunting for Autrey/Autry "genealogy cousins" on this branch for nearly 20 years, off and on.
William Nelson Autrey was a son of Elijah Berryman Autrey and Adaline Downing (b. circa 1825, Colbert Co., AL, according to her son's death record and 1850 census. Yes, the 1860 and 1870 show birth in TN.) I show William's siblings as Mary J (c1852), Louisa A (c1854 MS), Cintha (C1855), Dursa (c1859, deaf/blind), Thomas (c1861), Elishu (c1864). All but Louisa were born in AL, according to census records.
William Nelson married c. 1878 Martha Harrison Warren, 9th child of William Warren and Priscilla Franks. Martha was born 16 June 1858 AL, died 14 Sept 1933 Brilliant, Marion Co., AL. William and Martha are buried in the Center United Methodist Cemetery, Marion Co. [This is all from her death certificate and census records.] They had nine children between 1879 and 1897, and I have photos of at least one (Joseph Edward), and maybe others.
I have some information on William's father Elijah Berryman Autrey I would be glad to share also.
