Hi everyone.
I have been doing a lot of research on Absalom Autrey, believed to be the father of Cornelius Autrey, in an effort to seperate his children from Cornelius' children. Here is a small part of what I have come up with on Absalom. If you would like the whole thing on Absalom (a couple of pages) email me I'll send it to you directly in an attachment so the footnotes don't disappear. I welcome any additional information, comments, questions, arguments, whatever. I don't have any vested interest in this. I'm just looking for solid evidence and then trying to figure out what that evidence means..

ABSALOM AUTREY was born 1740-1750, according to the 1830 census, possibly in England.; died after 1830, almost certainly in St. Clair County, Ala. He married (---) probably around 1775. She was probably born about 1758, possibly in Germany; died after 1830, probably in St. Clair County, Ala.
The probable children of Absalom and (---) Autrey that I have been able to identify, birth order unknown:
i. CORNELIUS AUTREY - Born about 1770-1775, possibly in North Carolina; said to have died in 1847, Perry County, Ala. He obtained a marriage bond to wed NANCY EAVES 9 June 1801, Rutherford County, N.C.,
ii. ALEXANDER AUTREY - Born 4 Jan. 1780, North Carolina; died 22 Sept. 1857, Conecuh County, Ala.; married PARTHENIA B. IRVIN 5 March 1803, Rutherford County, N.C.
iii. HIRAM AUTREY - Born ?, probably in North Carolina; died ?. He obtained a marriage bond to wed POLLY FOX 17 June 1807, Rutherford County, N.C.
iv. SINTHEY AUTREY - Born ?; died ?; married ENOCH GEORGE 13 Oct. 1820, St. Clair County, Ala.
v. POLLY M. AUTREY - Born ?, died by 1830, probably in St. Clair County, Ala.; married James Mehearge [Meharg] 23 Dec. 1821, St. Clair County, Ala.
vi. JAMES AUTREY - Born ca 1795, North Carolina; living 1850 in Tishomingo County, Miss. married MAHALY ALBERSON 23 Aug. 1825, St. Clair County, Ala.
vii. ENOCH AUTREY - Born ?; said to have died in Blanco County, Texas; married SUSAN DOWNING 36 April 1828, St. Clair County, Ala.
viii. GEORGE AUTREY - Born about 1805, Georgia or North Carolina; died after 1880, Texas; said to have married (1) MARY ANN PRICE 26 Dec. 1825, Perry County, Ala. and (2) WINNY M. WILLIAMS 28 Sept. 1857, Cherokee County, Texas.
