James Samuel Autrey, born c1795 in NC, married Mahaly Alberson in St. Clair Co., Al. They are listed in the 1830 St. Clair Co. census, 1840 Talladega Co., Al census and the 1850 Tishomingo Co., Ms census. Son Absalom Autrey, born c1828 in Al/Tn married Delilah Frances Smith (daughter of Sterling and Frances Smith) in 1850 in Pontotoc Co., Ms.. Absalom and Frances are listed in the 1850 Tishomingo Co census and the 1860 White Co., Ar census. Absalom died c1869 in Arkansas, and daughter Frances Ann Autrey married Benjamin Craven Harrison in Sebastian Co., Ar.

Is James S. Autrey the same as the “James” I always see listed as a son of Absalom Autrey (1740-1827) of St. Clair Co., Al.? I would appreciate any help establishing the relationship between James S. and the St. Clair Co Absalom.

Thanks.
