You have very good leads to Vorderberg (for Valentin sen.) and Labientschach (for Agnes). You would have to search records in Austria.
The most promising search would be for the birth record of the young Valentin, son of Agnes, born around 1900/01.You would need to establish the parish for Labientschach (which likely is either St. Georgen im Gailtal or Saak), and search the parish records for the birth entry of young Valentin (probably Janschitz). The original birth entry may contain information, added later, on the marriage of the mother in the USA.
Since it is likely that young Valentin was born out of wedlock, there might have been a Pflegschaftsakt (file on legal guardianship). If there is such a file, it might contain information about the likely father (who would have had to provide alimony payments), the child's adoption via the marriage of Valentin sen. and Agnes in the USA, and the permanent departure of the child to America. You could inquire with the State Archive of Carinthia in Klagenfurt whether such a Pflegschaftsakt exists and can be located.
For the situation with the parish records for Labientschach and Vorderberg, you would need to contact the Diocesan Archive in Klagenfurt.
Unfortunately, to my knowledge, none of these records are on-line or available for perusal in the USA.You either have to find a local researcher or plan a trip to Carinthia, or try your luck by e-mail or traditional mail.
Perhaps young Valentin traveled to the USA under an alias last name.
Somewhat strangely, when I checked Ellis Island records, I found the record of a Valentin Mitsche, age 10, who arrived in the USA on August 27, 1910.According to the ship manifest, he was traveling together with a brother, Emil, age 8.The two boys seem to have been under the supervision of an 18 year old.The manifest states that the mother of the two boys was Agnes Rugi (Rogi?) back in Virnitz, Austria, while the father was Valentin Mitsche, living in Milwaukee (whom the two boys were destined to join). The 18-year old is stated as hailing from Feistritz which could be the Feistritz in the lower Gail valley.I have no idea what Virnitz means and where it would have been located. However, the name Mitsche does exist today in the lower Gail valley.
The first names Agnes and Valentin are not really frequent ones.Nevertheless, the allusions of above are likely without substance, and these two boys were really brothers, belonging to a different family (with name Mitsche).Nevertheless, it is tantalizing to speculate how two young boys could be sent to America to join their father, while their mother was staying back in Austria.
