DB,
Here's the problem. Austria controlled a Polish region called "Galicia" from 1772 till 1918. Them Poland was reconstituted and got Galicia back. ThenWWII came along and Poland lost a lot of it's eastern territories including a chunk of Galicia which is today in Ukraine.
All this means you have to get an exact location for this family's hometown. The name you have is anglicized. If this place was in Poland it would be spelled with a "w" not a "v". If this place was in Ukraine it would be spelled in Cyrillic letters which would have to be transliterated into something like you have, know. I suspect this place is in Ukraine but can't prove it.
You need to beat the bushes a little to try and get some additional information that might help locate this town/village. If these folks were Greek Catholic or Orthodox it wouldn't hurt to check the records from the church they attended. It wasn't unusual for ethnic churches to include biographical details in their records.
