thanks for the info!In fact after reading through the threads I followed suggested links as I realized how the volatile state afftected the borders (very existence)of their motherland and why it was so reflected in their censustakings!Your mention of the Greek Catholic church sparked more questions.Dickey had at least one baptism performed in a NY Ukrainian Church "according to the Greek Rite of the Catholic church".A related Polish grandfather who married into their family, married nad had at least one child baptised at two different Ukrainian Catholic churches "According to the Greek Rite of the Catholic church".Must have been grandma Dickey's influence!
BTW, I've written to the churches (with SASE) and am waiting for a hopeful reply.Thanks again for you time and info! Thomas
