Help in finding SIERADZKI Surname
I am trying to figure out where my ancestors are from in Poland. I've been told that Sieradzki is the correct spelling in which my great uncle kept, but his parents and 3 sisters went by Sieradki. I've found an Ellis Island record for my great grandmother and her children spelled under Sieracka. Please can anyone help me with any information. Birth, Marriage, etc. Even family members who are still living in Poland.
Jan Sieradzki b. 12-10-1865 Galicia and Eleanor (Kawa) b. 1-10-1864 Galicia. Marriage abt. 1884 in Poland. Ellis Island shows Eleanore and children arriving 5-22-1895.
The U.S. census shows Galicia, Austria, Germ-Pol.....I'm guessing Galicia would have been their home.
I believe their children who were also born in Poland were Mary, Anna, Matilda "Tillie", Joseph, Ella (I believe died in Poland) and Helen.
I hope any of this information might be able to help you help me with where my family lived. I'm stuck and don't know where else to search other than ancestry.com and currently can't renew membership. Thank you so very much for your help.
