Remember, birthdays were not celebrated in the old days as they are now so a year up and down no biggie. Your ancestor could have come thru Philadelphia, Boston or Baltimore and not just NY.

Tarnopil is a big town and you want your ancestor to be from a small village. Poznanka Gnila is Sout-East of Ternopil. Your ancestor's draft registration card does say he was born in Poznanka Gnila.

I have my doubts that the female ancestor was American and the male ancestor Ruthenian and they married. Maybe her parents were from old country. Common language and common tradition put our first ancestors together.
