I have finally found what I believe to be my fathers name on a passenger list and is written Paul James. He always said it was spelled Yonas, but at this stage I am not sure. On the same manifest it says his brother would be meeting him at Ellis Island, Peter Yanez, so theres a different spelling. We ended up with the name Jones after all this. How do I go about finding out any info on my austrian grandparents who never came to this country as far as I know. My grandmothers name I believe was Rose and she was a seamstress however my dad never spoke of his Dad in my presence. My uncles name was Peter and I know he had a daughter named Rose living in Cleveland Ohio that my uncle went to visit. Rumours have it she returned to Austria after divorcing her husband. Not verified.Any help will be appreciated . Thank you
