Here's where you sometimes have to work sideways to move forward. In the WWI Draft Registration Cards, are two individual of interest:
Rokovesky Wassel of Hazard Road, Palmerton, Pennsylvania, aged 26, b. date not known 1882, Austria, non-declared alien, works as a laborer for Palmer Land Co. in Plamerton; narest relative is ?sgentia Wassil, wife, in Austria. Dated 1918.
Sh??re Wasyl of Westminster(?) Rd., Palmerton, Pennsylvania, aged 40, b. date not known, 1878 Austria, laborer, Palmer Land Co.; wife, Mary Wasyl in Austria; dated 1918.
People emigrated from Europe to places in the US and Canada where they already had friends and relatives. It is not likely a coincidence that they are in Carbon Co. near your family.
