Margaret McLean (married Riley & McGinty)

Looking for information and to connect with people researching Margaret, daughter of John McCleane (sic) and Mary, was baptised in St Nicholas, Liverpool. She was tried on 22 October 1838 and sentenced to 14 years. She was transported to Tasmania, leaving London on 5 September 1839 on the Hindostan and arriving in Hobart on 9 December 1839.

It appears she married James Riley circa 1845, and she went to Victoria on the Clarence on 6 March with her husband and two children. It looks as though James died sometime before 1856 and then Margaret lived with Alexander McGinty until her death.

Margaret admitted to Ararat Hospital on the 20th May and died of Hepatitis which on 13 June 1873.

Have other information as well.
