BOMFORD and de BOMFORD - England, Ireland and Australia
Posted by: Rick Smith (ID *****3014) Date: August 21, 2003 at 00:22:48

Hi,

I have updated my website at:

http://www.comp.utas.edu.au/users/rsmith/smith.htm

BOMFORD came from Worcestershire, England from approx. 1580 onwards and descendants still live there. Huguenots from France before that.
I strongly suspect along with other researchers that my BOMFORDs are descended from Col. Laurence BOMFORD (~1617 - 1720) as appears in "Burke's Irish Family Records", 5th Edition, 1976, London, Burke's Peerage Limited, p152-5.

Mainly northern Tasmania, Australia; Trim area Meath, Ireland pre 1833.

Willing to share information.

Kind regards
Rick
