William Dean - "Isabella" & Jane Crawford "Cadet"
Posted by: Regina Craig (ID *****4465) Date: July 22, 2003 at 02:22:25

Hello
I've finally found out about "my" convict, William DEAN.
He was transported and arrived in Tasmania on 21 May 1842 by "Isabella" (for incredibly petty theft), and was sentenced to 14 years.
He married Jane CRAWFORD transported on "Cadet" on 17 Jun 1851 in Launceston.
(I have some documents at the moment that I'm trying to read. They're giving me a real headache!!)
Anyway, I've located the children, who were: John, Mary, Ann, Sarah, Emily, Martha, Annie, William Henry and Jane, all born between 1852 and 1870, either in Morven or Longford, while William was a publican.
Out of these children, I have located marriages for: Mary to John DUCE (1870), Sarah to William Thomas LOWE (1871)and Emily to Osbourne HERBERT (1885).
Emily, Sarah and husbands made their way to Victoria and died in Preston and Coburg respectively.
I'm hoping that someone recognises these families and may be able to help me with further descendants or family information.
Thank you.
Regina
