Tryning to find infromation about my ggg gandfather convict from York, England, sent to Tasmania on Marquis of Hastings arriving 1839. Have been told by elderly relation(now deceased) he is said to have been put to work on the Hobart gang, what was this? Any ideas of where to look for information I would be most grateful.
