Dear Bronwyn,

Try this site:

http://pioneers.archives.tas.gov.au/

I have the Tasmania Convict Index on CD ROM from 1804 to 1853 when transportation to Tasmania ceased.

It would not be usual for a convict to travel with his family, they would generally follow a few years later.

Good luck
Regards
Gordon
