Much further research, with help from Neil Mansfield, revealed that there was no connection between Convict Henry and Somerville Henry apart from proximity, firstly near the Moorabbin area, and later, on the peninsula. Somerville Henry Gomm was the only child of George and Ann (Teagle). The Henry Gomm on lot 13 Rosebud Fishing Village was Convict Henry's son and died in the Cheltenham Benevolent Home in 1916. His brother William, who owned lot 13, died at Hasting in 1915. Another brother, Thomas, died at Dromana in 1898.
A book has been written with newspaper articles and genealogical information about both Gomm families. The City of Kingston Historian (Parkdale Library) has a copy. I am willing to supply a copy of the file free onto your USB stick.
