Anyone connected to the Spooners of Boxted, nr Colchester in Essex??
Robert Spooner (b1834, Nayland, Suffolk) married Ellen Lay (b.1836, "Pond House" Boxted, Essex) in 1858 in London. Sailed to Oz abt 1858 on the "Suffolk". Robert died 1920 at Doonside, NSW and Ellen died 1925 at Pennant Hills NSW.
They had ten children:
1. Llewelyn 1858
2. Mary Harriet 1860
3. Ellen 1863
4. Alice Eva 1865
5. Emily Maude 1868
6. Marion Royce 1870
7. Edward Egbert 1872
8. Robert James 1875
9. Sarah Ethel 1878
10.Arthur William Ethric 1882

I believe there are some Spooners of this line resident in Victoria. I am connected to the Spooner/Lay/Langworthy side.
Love to hear from any relatives.
I have some good info on the "Scandal of the Butler of Boxted Hall and the Young Girl from Pond House".......
