would anyone know anything at all about a benjamin whittle or whittly or whitely who worked as a labourer on paddlesteamers at goolwa 1883.
he married a sarah jolly from morphet vale
who was the grand daughter of william godolphin jolly from hindmarsh island.
i think they lived at milang and benjamin was killed in a paddlesteamer accident at goolwa somewhere around 1900.
sarah remarried a john donahue a farm labourer of finnis flat and had a son james keith donahue who was born 20/9/1905 at goolwa .
there were 5 whittle children john (jack), william benjamin, florence, ross and edward (ted).
regards
bill ward
