Further to my earlier Post.
Elizabeth Fortescue Taylor DID NOT have a daughter when she arrived in South Australia.
Neither did she come out on the William Nichol.

BUT she did come out on the Orelana in 1839.

Shows the importance of correct research.

There is a family annecdote that her husband died on the way out. Some records do record her as widow.
Some researchers consider she was born in 1816 in Dawlish in Cornwal and that she may have been the AFT who husband George Cadby committed bigamy. (http://www.oldbaileyonline.org/browse.jsp?path=sessionsPapers%2F18380402.xml)

EFT's parents were John and Margaret Taylor who also came out on the Orleana. (TAYLOR John, wife Margaret, John, Eliz Fortescue arrived in SA 1840-06-10 on Orleana from London 1840-02-29 )http://www.familyhistorysa.info/shipping/passengerlists.html

We could surmise a few things from all this but does anyone have PROOF
Hoping someone can help.
Dennis
