Hi Francisco

There does not appear to be a death recorded in the SA Deaths indexes from Digger.

I have found a record of Civil Service retirement for a R. McLennan who was a guard in the Advertiser May 1914. His birthdate is 21 Dec 1843.
see link

If you do a search for McLennan and guard in the SA Advertiser there is also a couple of other articles about a couple of injuries sustained during work on the SA railways as guard.

Hope this is of help

Deb
