Trying to trace ancestry of Mary Habgood, wife of George Clark. She is also known as Lady Mary Habgood, b. about 1780; her parentage is unknown, however she may be the Mary Habgood b. 1780 in Latton, Wiltshire, England, to parents John Habgood and Mary Cook may be this person (unverified).
The title, 'Lady', is shown in the "Biographical Index of South Australians 1836 - 1885" entry for her son-in-law, William Reeds. It is assumed that her title relates to her position in the Habgood family and not by way of her marriage to George Clark. The Habgoods probably descend from Adam de Chetwynd, feudal Lord of Chetwynd, Salop; living 1180.
