Hi Mia
Thank you. This family gets more intriguing. His wife died in NSW in 1927. Don't know if she divorced Frances Crowley but she ended up with Nathan Frederick Davis. There were two Crowley births, 1912 and 1913. Next I find a birth of Dorothy Davis in 1924, S.A. to Nathan Davis and Rhoda Hochuli but no record of a marriage. [ so she's reverted to her maiden name] There was another child, Thelma Davis bc 1927 in NSW.
Nathan married my grandmother, a widow with three children in 1928 in Sydney and then they all moved to Brisbane where he died in 1931. The children all went under the name of Davis. Odd that the Crowley children weren't returned to their father.
Are any indexes available for divorce records? Didn't know until this week that Nathan Davis was even in South Aust.as I'd always assumed that he lived in NSW and that all of the children were Davis. He was supposedly b in London c 1879 but cannot find anything on him or his parents.
