Hi Brendan
I'm in Adelaide and for about 8 years now have been doing research for anyone who wants information about ancestors who came here at some time. I was in the mortlock Library today and had a good look for your Patrick & Mary Kellett.
Following is what I managed to find:-
ARRIVAL FROM OVERSEAS.
Patrick Kellett, married aged 39yrs, occupation carpenter, Irish, Mary (wife) aged 38yrs, Irish, Mary (daughter) 10yrs, Irish, Samuel (son) 6 years, Irish, Eleanor (daughter) 3 years, Irish and Patrick (son) 15yrs, occupation labourer, Irish all arrived in South Australia 18th September 1876 aboard the "Beneleuch" which sailed from Plymouth on 8th July 1876.
DEATHS.
1. Mary Kellett, aged 79yrs of Queenstown died 9/10/1910 at Queenstown. Widow of Patrick Kellett District Port Adelaide ref b352 p160
2. Patrick Kellett, aged 77yrs of Queenstown died 4/10/1908 at Queenstown. Informant not recorded. District Port Adelaide ref b336 p298.
SANDS & McDOUGAL DIRECTORIES FOR SOUTH AUSTRALIA.
1908.Patrick Kellett, resided at West Street, Queenstown. (no house nos. given in these directories)
Samuel Kellett, hairdresser and tobacconist, of Commercial Road, Port Adelaide. (Commercial Road is the main street through Port Adelaide)
John Kellett, hairdresser & tobacconist, Conner Road, Port Adelaide.
I'm throwing this one simply because it was in the directory.
E.J. Kellett, labourer of Bower Street, Glanville.
My husband and I live in Glanville.Bower Street is about a 5 minute walk from where we live.
