Hello Peter,
In 2009 in you were very kind in helping my brother with some family tree enquires. I've now picked up were Alex left off and made some real progress back to the early 1800's.
However, there is a real question on my grandad, John McCristal who emigrated to Australia in 1922 on the Steamship Ormonda. He emigrated with his half brother William Liston Boulton.
Both left behind family and I do know JohnMcCristal never sent for his family (I'm not sure about William Boulton.
John McCristal left behind two son's both under 3yrs old and a wife.
I know John McCristal died in Brisbane in 1956 (we know this thanks to you)
I was hoping you could give me some ideas on how I can find out about John McCristal's life in Australia? I know he was guarding POW's in 1940-42 but nothing else!
Did he re marry?
Did he have children?
Why did he not send for his family?
I and my family would be most grateful for any help. As this subject has been a mystery in my family for 3 generations!
Many thanks
Ross McCristal
