Hi Wayne,
I had a look at the AGCI disc,and found an entry for Daniel DALY,with a reference to 5/6/1917 at Toowong Cemetery,it usually has an X indicating cross reference if that person is not the one who died,so I went and had a look at the Brisbane Courier Mail for that date(June 6,1917,as May died on 5/6/1917)and found two funeral notices for her.As she had a country death registration,I assumed she would have been buried where she had died(wrong assumption).

The two funeral notices read as follows;

DALY.-The Friends of Mr.DANIEL J.DALY,Station-Master,Haden,late of Fig Tree Pocket,are respectfully invited to attend the Funeral of his deceased Wife,May,to move from the Funeral Parlour,Roma-Street,City,THIS(Wednesday)MORNING,at 10 o'clock,to the Toowong Cemetery.

K.M.SMITH,Undertaker.

DALY.-The friends of Mr. and Mrs.E.J.HARDING and Family (of Stanley-terrace,Toowong)are respectfully invited to attend the Funeral of their deceased Daughter and Sister,Mrs.May DALY,to move from the Funeral Parlour,Roma-Street,City,THIS(Wednesday)MORNING,at 10 o'clock,to the Toowong Cemetery.

These notices were published in the Brisbane Courier Mail on Wednesday 6/6/1917 on page 6.

May is listed on the Brisbane City Council records as Mary,being buried on 6/6/1917.

On the Railway Employees list for 1919 there is a Daniel J DALY listed as a Station-master,aged 30.

On the Electoral Rolls for 1917 Daniel Joseph DALY and May DALY are listed at Haden(Division of Darling Downs,Subdivision of Highfields.Daniel Joseph DALY was listed as a Station-master.

The QLD Pioneers Index has a Daniel Joseph DALY,with parents listed as Michael DALY and Sarah CREWE born 1889.

I checked the death of Sarah DALY and found she had died at Brisbane(Reg.No.1918/B027224),parents listed as Samuel Mort CREWE and Mary MALLON,and is buried at Lutwyche Cemetery in Brisbane.

Her Funeral Notice reads as follows;

DALY.-The Friends of Mrs.Sarah DALY,deceased(late of Fig -tree Pocket),are respectfully invited to attend her Funeral,to move from the residence of her Son-in-law(Mr.P.J.CARTER),State School,Stafford-on-Kedron,THIS (Monday)AFTERNOON,at 3o'clock to the Lutwyche Cemetery.

K.M.SMITH,Undertaker.

DALY.-The Friends of Mr. and Mrs.F.LEE,Mr. and Mrs.P.J.CARTER,Messrs EDMOND and DANIEL DALY,and Miss ELLEN DALY,are respectfully invited to attend the Funeral of their deceased Mother and Mother-in-law,Mrs Sarah DALY,to move from the residence of her Son-in-law(Mr.P.J.CARTER),State School,Stafford-on-Kedron,THIS (Monday)AFTERNOON,at 3o'clock to the Lutwyche Cemetery.

K.M.SMITH,Undertaker.

The mention of Fig-tree Pocket is worth mentioning,because that is a place mentioned in the funeral notice for May DALY(nee HARDING).

Daniel Joseph DALY died 14/2/1946(Reg.No.1946/000895),parents listed as Michael DALY and Sarah CREWE.

Hope this Helps,

Liz.
