Hi Liz

This is the information I have on Martha

Martha Russell was born in Sep 1842 in Wells, Somerset, England. Her parents were William Russell and Sarah Lavis.

She emigrated to Australia aboard the "Victoria" in 1849 which arrived in Sydney, with her parents and most of her siblings.

On 4 Feb 1861 she married William Duncan McLaugh Maher/Mahr in East Maitland. They had 14 children (2 died young) The 12 that lived past infancy were Walter, William, Fanny, Amelia, Albert, Frederick,Archibald, Florence, Ambrose, Stephen, Spencer, and Amy.

Martha's husband William died on 24 Sep 1897 in Lismore in northern NSW. Some of the children were also living in the region and around the NSW/QLD border.

Another researcher has given me information that she thinks that Martha married a John Kelly in 1898. We can't find her death in NSW and thought that maybe she moved north to Queensland to be around some of her children( that or she married for a third time).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards
Ina
