Hi Would anyone be able to help with this one. I have tried many times before but come up with nothing. My late husband's grandfather was named Harry GRANT, he called himself Harry Ogilvie Ulysses GRANT. He always said that he was a foundling, born at Normanton and he stated a date of 1st May 1886 on a certificate that he obtained in 1956. He said that he was raised by Inigo Jones, the late Queensland weatherman, at his property at Peachester in Qld. As far as I know, ther is no registered birth in that name. Could there be any records available for Normanton births at that time that may give us some clues as to who he was? On his marriage certificate in 1911, he does not mention any parents names but says he was born at Normanton and his father was a blacksmith. His age was 25, which ties in with the 1886 birthdate. Any help would be great. Thanks Ernene Notify Administrator about this message?
