Yes I have tried New Zealand records and he is not there.
This may sound silly to you but he is really only a side issue, he was the second husband of Winifred and I am getting her death record so will wait and see what that brings up. He was 30 when he came out from England, was a labourer when he joined the Army and as he has listed his sister as his next of kin it would be apparent that his parents had passed. I doubt that the Army would have anything further. I had a look at the Measures listings and replied to a lady called Jan who said her ancestor's name was George (Muggy) Measures from the same place so I will see what she can come up with.
