Hi Jean,
Thanks for your reply. Yes I know of the Ryerson Index but had not looked there. I just checked the NSW BMD's and found Winifread and Ross but Gordon is nowhere to be found. I have a look back in England (his place of birth) but no death there and I also looked at Queensland and no death there. So then I thought if I put a message here maybe a relie would claim him, but alas NO. There are a lot of them in the USA so he could have gone that way, but he could also have gone to any other state of Australia also.
Anyway, thanks for your help.
