Fish River/Lowther/Oberon/Tarana 1840s
When my ggg father had children baptised in the 1840s he gave his place of residence as Lowther (1845) and Fish River (1848).
The Fish River runs from near Black Springs south west of Oberon, past Oberon and Tarana and then winds its way along to south east of Bathurst where it eventually feeds into the Macquarie River.
Does anyone know just where the place the locals called "Fish River" in the 1840s and 1850s was located?
Has anyone any records on the properties (presumably cattle runs) which were established around Lowther and/or the Fish River Valley in the 1840s?
