I have, at last, found what I believe to be the marriage date of Charlotte to Martin. The fact that Martin spelled his surname as Bearns and married Charlotte Ibbotson in 1868 in Sydney made my search almost impossible. A tip from Jane Simpson put me on the right track, thank you Jane. Martin Bearns died in 1926 at Hurstville, aged 84. Charlotte Bearns died in 1923 and her parents were Gardiner so she may have been married before to somebody named Ibbotson. I have sent for the certificates so will have further information soon, hopefully. I would still be gratefull for any help.
