James Mayes Bond - Norfolk 1830 to Ararat 1896

Seeking descendants of - JAMES MAYES BOND

He was born in 1830 to Maria [nee Gaze] and Thomas Mays Bond in East Dereham Norfolk.

James Occupation was that of a Coal Porter listed on his marriage certificate when he married Elizabeth Harvey in Norwich in 1852.

In 1854 on the passenger list at Southhampton for the ship AMERICA his occupation was listed as Agricultural Labourer.

His occupation was that of a Bricklayer upon his arrival in the colony and a miner from 1855 until approximately 1870. He purchased property at Burrumbeet in the late 1860ís. He is listed as a Farmer from 1873 to 1878 and a Contractor from 1885 until his death in 1896.

In 1896 - James Mays Bond died from complications in a Dray accident in Ararat. His residence was listed at Burrumbeet.
