This sounds like Charles Holmes, son of Henry Holmes and Mary Ann (Howe) arr. Lysander 183, with good information about early life in colony. Too long to print here but you can find it on Trove digitised newspapers..it is very informative.

South Australian Register 30 July 1859

MARRIED. On the 28th July, at Spring Farm, near Angaston, by the Rev. William Brown, Charles, eldest surviving son of Mr. Henry Holmes, to Mary Ann, only daughter of Mr. John Chapman, of this colony.
