This fellow claimed he was 16 when he joined up for WW2 - so born in 1923 instead??????????

The Sydney Morning Herald (NSW) Wednesday 7 October 1942

Private Robert Neil Bingham. 19, A.I.F., charged with desertion, was alleged tp have been absent from his unit from June 19 until September 21, when he surrendered. He said, he was only 16 when he joined the Army. He had served at Tobruk.

The decision of the Court will be promulgated later.
