Sandra, If he was german he would very likely to have come as an unassisted immigrant or possibly a crew member

I have the passenger list for that ship which is also online
There is a William TICKEL listed aged 22 but he is a farm labourer from Cornwall,England

I have also checked the UNassisted index in the PROV records which covers NSW and Victoria and he is not listed
He may well have been a crew member of this ship and that maybe why he is not on a passenger list

This film reel is from NSW immigrant indexex

All I know about german birth records is that you need to know exactly where he was born before you can even try and get birth information
Are his parents names listed on his marriage or death certificate?
