Carol, the marriage in 1902 that you mentioned for George SEARL is not showing up in my queensland federation BDM index (CD)
there are 4 births showing up unde SEARLE
Mary Louisa b. 9.4.1903
Ena b. 20.10.1906
George Ernest b. 14.10.1908
Anne b. 12.10.1904

maybe he has named his son b. 1908 after himself?

there is nothing in queensland pioneers BDM about a George SEARL & Mary JACOBS so very possible those parents were just made up at the time - no birth for any children of this couple in queensland either
It appears that this George SEARL is indeed Ernest George BEAVIS

Have you checked electoral rolls under SEARL/SEARLE for George and Annie?

I will see if I can find anything using this surname instead

Jean
