Hi Christine – Re your mention of a Suzanna Bloomer marryingJames Carr: I have a little info which may be of help from the Maclean District Historical Society re the Bloomer family from Maclean and surrounding Clarence River areas. In 1856 an Edward and Mary Ann Bloomer (both aged 22yrs) together with their son William (aged 1yr) emigrated to NSW on the ship ‘Maitland’.This William Bloomer died in Maclean 28.4.1926 aged 71yrs and is listed as being born in Cookstown, Co Tyrone, Ireland with his Father shown as Edward BLOOMER and his Mother as Mary Ann CARR.
This Mary Ann BLOOMER (CARR) died in Kiama 1857 (aged 23yrs)with her father being shown as John and Mother Margaret. (NSW BDM/Historical).My relation, Edward Bloomer married for a second time in 1858 in Kiama to a Winifred Ryan and had 5 or 6 more children, one of whom was a SUZANNA BLOOMER, b 1864 in Grafton on the Clarence river. Quite possibly your SUZANNA BLOOMER who married James CARR.
Hope this has been of some help.
Margaret Muller (nee Bloomer)
