Thankyou Trish (#7878)
You have helped clarify some facts I knew. Have not gone to far in the Jenkyn side as yet but I know Richard Henry came from England (his father Frederick Jenkyn and mother Mary Ann). I have a copy of amarriage cert of Richard and Margaret 1914- interesting to note the date has been altered to 1904??.Of the 2 children born prior to this union - one was born Francis Leslie McMahon NSW, Bondi 1908, cant see a father listed. The other was called Cecil he is apparently the eldest - cant find anything on him, but I do know both of these boys were very dark in colour and took on the name Jenkyn which carries on through to today. Interesting though Francis (frank) his daughter told my father all his birth and army records/pension showed the name McMahon!
Children during marriage one was 1917 born Jenkyn and 1920 also born Jenkyn. Both of olive complextion
Margaret Henriet can also be seen as Henrietta, Marguerite and used Middleton and McMahon sometimes both together, was known as 'Etty' by her sisters Grace and Mabel. I beleive the union of Washington and Margaret is correct. As I remember being told her name was Henrietta Margareta Hayes. I don't understand the spanish influence to her name but I have heard some 'stories' of spanish 'blood' hence the darkness of my relations but doesn't make sense to me. The name Ramirez has also been mentioned. Hope this assists with any further information. Regards Kim.
