SCHOFIELD, Charles Rupert
Father: Rupert
Mother: Mary BARTELS
Place of Death: HIGH (Highett)
Also we have

SCHOFIELD Mary
Father: Cl...KRICKENBECK
Mother: Anne MURDOCH

I think you will find that her maiden name was KRIEKENBEEK which was a very connected name in Ceylon.Dutch Burghers.
I have also come across an old post in 2007 which refers to a Marie Ida Bartels who married Rupert Schofield in Ceylon but he died and she remarried a Mr GAULT. It maybe worth posting to see if you get a response. Try the web address below

Also thanks to Kellie the 1954 Electoral Rolls shows a family living in Highett.
1 Panorama Avenue, District: Higinbotham, SubDistrict: Highett.
Charles, Mary, Charles Dominic (clerk) and Mary Josephine and Anthony Stanisclaus (molder).
There was a Death notice online for Anthony....Anthony Stanislaus Schofield
SCHOFIELD, Anthony Stanislaus (Tony) Funeral Mass for the repose of the soul of Mr Anthony Stanislaus (Tony) Schofield will be offered at St Agnes Church, Spring Road, Highett, on Thursday (March 1, 2007) at 11 a.m. The funeral will leave at the conclusion of Mass for burial at the Cheltenham Memorial Park, Reserve Rd, Cheltenham. Rosary will be recited in the above Church on Wednesday Evening (Feb. 28) at 7.30 p.m. If preferred, in lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to Peter Macallum Cancer Centre. Envelopes available at the Church.
Now Norman if you think this is your family on th 1954 Electoral Roll, then I would suggest you check the Australian telephone directory web address below - search for a Schofield in Highett and you will find a M J who could be Anthony's wife, they are still at the same address from 1954. http://www.whitepages.com.au/wp/initResSearch.dohttp://www.whitepages.com.au/wp/initResSearch.do
Norman you said that your father and his brother's were born in Australia, but on Bonaventure Schofield's WW2 story it states he was born in Ceylon. So my guess is that your father and his siblings were all born in Ceylon.Perhaps after the war his parents and brother's decided to migrate. But I will see if I can find any further info for Australia.
Cheers
