Hmmm - all very strange: Decree Nisi granted Thursday 26th October 1922 for adultery. "PETITION FOR DIVORCE. SYDNEY, Thursday.-In the Divorce Court today. Dudley Martin petitioned for divorce from Beatrice Martin, formerly McCallum, alleging mis- conduct with William Cameron, who was joined as co-respondent. Petitioner and respondent were married in 1912 at St. Kilda according to the rites of the Church of England. A decree nisi, returnable in six months, was granted." I found marriage record for her - admittedly all it gave was her name and the Registration number 7429. Nothing else was available so I assumed that 1912 was when she married Dudley Martin, especially as I used the name Beatrice Hannah McCallum for the marriage search. I can't find a marriage record for Dudley Martin but there is no doubt that he divorced her. The date of the marriage was very blurred and looked like 1x2x so I corrected it to 1912 but maybe he married her in 1920 or 1921 but that doesn't give her a lot of time to commit adultery and come before the courts ... I can't find any record of a marriage for either of them in the 1920s. Notify Administrator about this message?
