Wendy,
I have looked on Vic bdms no Patrick born to William & sarah Heffernan. only marriage for William Heffernan to Sarah Murray was in 1874, too late for your search.
Patrick Heffernan m 1868 to Catherine T Raleigh at Binalong NSW. or registered there.
Most births for this couple appeared to be registered in Wagga Wagga, and there is a death for a patrick Heffernan at Urana in 1904 age 64, no parents listed. Wagga Wagga is close to Urana.
I don't think that any connection has been made from the Bega Heffernans to the Riverina Heffernans. The book you mentioned the Heffernans from Clonbonane was written by Fr. Paul Bateman as a private printing, if there is a copy around it could be in the NSW State Library or the Australian library that is if he submitted it. I have a copy of the book, but Fr. Bateman is residing at Moran's Crossing near Bega, I am sure he would be delighted to hear from you
Maggie Heffernan in Port Macquarie NSW AUS
my children are descendants of William Heffernan convict of Tipperary born 1818 arrived Sydney on Havering 1849. No connection found between the South Coast Heffernans and our line.
