Hi Kellie , Trish and Marg , I'm back !!!!! I now have Alfred William Wright's marriage certificate , and he was born in Stoke Newington , UK , therefore not born in Victoria . This confirms his war service record , however his age varies , Wedding cert in oct 1910 shows his age as 21 , he enlists in aug 1914 aged 27 yrs and 9 months .
His parents are shown as Thomas Wright and Kate Sawkins , I have found one hit for his birth march qtr 1889 ( if his age of 21 is correct ) in Hackney ( adjoining Stoke Newington in London )and a match for his parents wedding December Qtr 1884 on free UK BMD .
However I am still at a loss to find out what happened to him in Australia . The only possible match is a marriage in Queensland in 1922 to a Mary McCook , does anyone have access to see the parents of this Alfred ??
It appears no death in eastern states .
Any help appreciated .
